Wii U is an HD capable console that is technically on par with the 360 and the PS3. It's capable of outputting with HDMI, composite, or component cables in 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. The demos Nintendo showed at the press conference were impressive, and the company also announced a number of multiplatform titles (see below) further indicating that the capabilities of the console match those of its competitors.
