The Lego Space Shuttle 3367 is a really cool part of Lego City. In the event that you aren't acquainted with Lego City, it's a building set theme that originally came out in 1978. In this first release, the initial minifigures had been unveiled too. In addition, in those days, it was known as Lego Town. Lego City collections are derived from city life, with the models depicting city and emergency situation services, airports, development and civilian services. Since 1978, Lego has launched a number of various city-based designs under the brands Legoland Town, Town Junior and World City before the current incarnation was started in 2005. In 2005 was in fact when the present Lego City was launched with the release of the first collection, Airport. This was actually a reissue of the 1994 airport set Century Skyway, with only a small number of variations. Since its introduction, Lego has announced different subthemes within the Lego City title which were utilized to be able to tie together related sets, for example Police, Fire, Locomotives, Coast Guard, Farm, Travel and Construction. Lego City's most recent theme within this banner is named the Space Center. This collection contains the Lego space shuttle, space center, space station, space buggy, satellites along with other space applicable sets. The Lego Space Shuttle is modeled after the Space Shuttle Discovery and is just about the most economical units in the set. What is really nice about the set is that it includes one minifigure astronaut, has opening freight doors plus a robotic arm that will release the provided Hubble Telescope into orbit. I made this set together with my son, and it was really a relatively easy set to construct. He will be 6 years old and we had a great time building it with each other. The Lego Space Shuttle set is made up of 231 parts and it's really perfect for kids aged 5-8. Along with his Lego Space Shuttle, he's got a lot of the Lego City models. We keep them set up down in the basement on a large table so that he is able to have fun playing for hours on end using his creativity. Another wonderful thing about the Lego Space Shuttle is it is really durable. I have found with a number of the Lego Star Wars as well as Lego Harry Potter sets that they break pretty quickly. Not the Lego Space Shuttle though. This has gone through the Earth's atmosphere lots of times and it survived re-entry without losing any parts! All in all, the Lego Space Shuttle is a great addition in our Lego City collection. It has produced almost endless hours of enjoyment and creative imagination and my son (and I!) love playing with it! The price is reasonable and you also really feel like you get your money's worth given it does not break apart whenever he plays with it.
