Angels & Demons – a movie to be viewed

Ron Howard is known as a film director. However, he first came to prominence as an actor playing in the films of 1960s and 1970s. Having quit his career as an actor, he has direc ted a great many films, including the blockbuster The Da Vinci Code, and its loud sequel, Angels & Demons.

The film is based on the book written by Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code that made the world split into two groups - its supporters and opponents, inclusive of the Church. Although The Da Vinci Code was forbidden in a great many countries, a considerable number of people all over the world have watched the film. The movie Angels & Demons re-starts to demonstrate the immortal rivalry between the Church and science described in The Da Vinci Code. The plot of the movie Angels & Demons concentrates upon the aspiration of Harvard University iconologist Robert Langdon to unveil the enigmas of a powerful underground society known as the Illuminati.

The Catholic Church, in particular the Vatican, faces a threat when the top four cardinals to supersede the recently deceased Pontiff are taken hostage by members of the Illuminati that adhere to scientific truth. The Church is told that each cardinal will be put to death one per hour starting at 8 pm, culminating with an antimatter bomb that is to blow up under St Peter's Cathedral at midnight destroying the Vatican. To face down this terrifying threat, the Church hires religious iconologist Robert Langdon played by Tom Hanks who knows a lot about the Illuminati. He is put to work promptly, rushing to find the abducted cardinals by deciphering clues, symbols and other historical facts. Robert Langton together with physicist Vittoria tries to reveal the mysterious decease of the Pontiff and save the Vatican. The images of Rome in the film are glorious and breathtaking.

The viewer has a chance to walk around the Italian capital and see the most significant architectural and cultural masterpieces together with the movie characters. The movie does well to involve interest through its explanations of historical facts and the inside organization of the Vatican. The plot keeps the watcher involved and interested up to the end of the movie. The story unfolds with extraordinary twists and turns that leave the viewer excited.
